Border Field State Park, where the US-Mexico border hits the Pacific coastline

This is Border Field State Park, where the US-Mexico border hits the Pacific coastline.

The fence divides Tijuana and San Diego County, but right at the beach, it is only a loose steel fence, and Mexicans routinely come through to sit on an American beach, and to test the response of the border patrol agents, who are everywhere.

The guy in red is all dressed up to look like a gringo tourist, and you can hear him ask us if he looks Mexican, and my friend tells him “Yes”, but I tell him he’d pass.

It’s a pretty surreal situation where you can have a conversation with a person in another country, who’s trying to figure out a way to get into your country.
